Journal (SPOILER ALERT!)
I was quite excited to read this book because of the epilogue at the end of the Maze Runner book, where Theresa was screaming for help. I like the whole mystery, betrayal, thrill of the whole story, it keeps me interested in the book. Out of all three of them, my favorite is the thrill of the story, it actually makes my heart beat faster because of the anticipation. It also gives you a "would you rather" kind of question, the whole story has this morality thing going on. The protagonist, Thomas, is fighting to protect other kids that are involved in this trial thing, from an organization called WICKED. WICKED is the organization that put these kids in the maze and in the scorch, to pretty much experiment on them. However, they say they are doing this for the good of mankind. You're probably like "So what?", well here's the question. Would you rather sacrifice a whole generation of young kids for the sake mankind or save this whole generation and pretty much leave the others to be slowly consumed by the flare? Well, I don't really have a answer for that yet, makes me wanna read the next book. Welp, let's talk about the characters, shall we? My favorite character is Minho, that one Asian kid that's pretty cool. Right now, I don't really like Theresa and Aris, what they did was not cool..not cool at all.
But I still don't want any of the Protagonists to die and also the side characters, I just feel sorry for them. The whole mystery thing of this book is great too, especially when Thomas got a glimpse of some of his memories when he got betrayed by Theresa and Aris (It was very harsh by the way). I liked that part. It's also has some very detailed descriptions of dead people and injuries, it's pretty cool. I'm really looking forward to reading the next book.
